One of our journalist friend from South Waziristan Agency Farooq Mehsud has been threatened by the assistant political officer of SWA when he tried to confirm a news piece from him relating the return of IDPs of south Waziristan. He was embarrassed and threatened of arrest and serious consequences under the black law of FCR( frontier crimes regulations) which is prevalent in the tribal areas for the last one century.Political administration in the tribal areas have frequently been using this black law against journalists and it has been hanging as the sword of Damocles over the heads of the journalists working in tribal areas, the most dangerous zone for journalists.
We want to inform all the authorities concerned that if Farooq Mehsud gets any kind of harm from any quarter, APO south Hamid Khattack would be responsible for it.
